There is no doubt in my mind now that every online I have played at tweaks their algorithms to produce bigger hands more often to create more big pots/excitement. You cant make this stuff up that I am reading on here in multiple threads and I have experienced it myself personally. I know I see more hands per hour playing online than in real life ring play, but give me a freaking break....there is no way these big hands hit so often and so many more bad beats in online vs real life.

The only other POSSIBLE explanation is that people in real life who can see your face/body language somehow play/dont play more hands...

no doubt its juiced. just play accordingly. i dont think you can make a program that generates absolutely random numbers /cards. i still love online play(mainly b/c of the convenience).:drink:

Although you are correct on a cosmic scale, the RNGs that are used for online poker are far more random than a human shuffling a deck for 15 seconds. Anybody who thinks that online poker is rigged, fixed, juiced, etc. should just not play online. Why would you want to?

I honestly believe that the reason this forum gets so little traffic is that threads like these are started almost every day. If people were posting interesting problem hands we'd have something valuable to discuss. I am one of those who goes elsewhere for that kind of reading/posting; but I resolve to start to post more of that here rather than just complain when there isn't enough of it. Starting today.

Thats not correct Quick....i read the biggest poker forums around 2+2, pckt 5's, etc. everyday they have rigged threads...one of the top players at pckt 5's a guy whos won hundreds of thousands and has a WSOP bracelet says stars is more than just weird..he stops short of rigged but if its not random what else is there?
No what kills a forum is bad reactions, 2+2 is dying because the answer to everything you post there is."u suck", " ur an idiot", "take up checkers", "im better than you'll ever be"...
I play a lot LIVE and anybody who does will see that all those badbeats and such happen there too, so with a few exceptions im not in the "its rigged" camp.....its live poker where ive had aces cracked by J4,35 and KQ....i watched the river belle millions on TV last night. phil ivey has AA another guy has A9....A9 hits the straight on the river....it happens...
no.... bad opinions dont kill a forum (boy do i have plenty of those..lol)......people knowing they will be ridiculed for anything they say does...

I have played for 20 years in live games and comparing the variance...well...there is no comparison. Its just absolutely different in my experience.

Bad beats do happen...but not as often and as crazy as they do online. :realtongu

If everyone in a live situation went in on every hand, I think you would have alot more bad beats.

Two hands from a live $20 tournament with 8 other friends this past Friday.

Q-Q-7 flop. Two guys get their money all in.. K-Q v Q-3.. brick turn.. 3 river.

Another hand earlier in the night.. A-2-5 flop, Two guys get their money all in, One has 3-4, other has pocke 10-10. Turn 5. River 5. Full house wins.

Save the "rigged" B.S. This stuff happens ALL THE TIME in real life and if you play enough hands in real life you'll see some outrageous stuff.

Rake is too good

Why would a poker site take the SLIGHTEST chance of screwing their reputation? They have so much to lose by doing that, when all they have to do is run an honest site and let the millions pour in daily. Not rigged IMHO.

I think the main reason people think the online games appear to be rigged is that you can play so many more hands online than in person. In online cash games you can easily average 50+ hands an hour whereas in person you might can do 25. With more hands being played you are going to see more bad beats.

Here is a DID YOU KNOW...At a 10-person table with no one folding, pocket aces will only win 31% of the time.

And the interesting follow up question is whether you should push your stack in anyways...knowing full well that you're a healthy underdog.

I try not to anymore, I am so tired of getting beat on aces that I am suprised it was 31%... In my case it is much lower :smoking:

So knowing that it is 35% or less to win, the usual way I handle pocket aces is to make such a large bet that no one wants to stay for the flop. However I am not sure if I am playing this the right way, opinions?
